Frequently Asked Questions

We provide comprehensive care for a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, floaters, retinal vein occlusions, uveitis, and other vitreoretinal disorders.

Following a comprehensive consultation and eye examination, including assessments such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure measurements, retinal imaging and ocular biometry where required, Dr Bobby Cheng will recommend a personalised treatment plan tailored to your diagnosis, stage of disease, overall eye health and visual needs.

Our friendly and professional optometrist team will begin with a detailed history-taking session to understand your symptoms, chief concerns, and medical history. Based on your condition and clinical needs, the appropriate eye tests and investigations may be performed, including OCT scans and retinal photography.

These results will assist Dr Bobby Cheng in conducting a focused consultation, with a clear explanation of the findings, diagnosis and recommended treatment options or next steps.

Most eye tests and investigations are painless and do not harm the eyes, although some diagnostic imaging machines may involve bright flashing lights. Dilating eye drops may also be used during your visit and are generally well tolerated.

Most procedures, including intravitreal injections and laser treatments, are performed using anaesthetic eye drops to maximise comfort and are typically well tolerated. Monitored sedation may also be offered in selected cases where appropriate.

We are empanelled with most Integrated Shield Plans in Singapore, as well as many major corporate insurance providers. Our team will be happy to assist with checking your coverage and guiding you through the billing and claims process.

If you are above 50, or have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a history of retinal conditions, a yearly eye examination is recommended.

We offer appointments during regular clinic hours, and urgent cases such as eye pain, redness, or sudden floaters and flashes will be prioritised whenever possible.
